Bon Iver on Letterman

I totally missed this and forgot to DVR it, but you can always count on the trusty ole' internet!

Holy Crapola!!!!!!!!!!

Via Videogum I was informed that the first episode of season 2 of Flight of The Conchords is available to watch online!! You guys! Here it is:

Paul Rudd + Jason Segel = Greatness

I just finally got to watch a trailer for their new film and I cannot wait to see this! I love love love Paul Rudd and he can do no wrong in my book (I even forgive him for The Ten and Over Her Dead Body). The premise is a bit odd, but the trailer still looks funny.

Roper Boots

As anyone into fashion might tell you, the 90s are back. It all started with the plaid rage then designers like Alexander Wang and Balmain brought it back to a whole different level. Fashion bloggers have taken note and have begun embracing grunge like nobody's business and have begun shredding t-shirts and dusting off their Doc Martins. Anyone who knows me, knows that I am a huge fan of Alexander Wang and have welcomed back grunge with open arms. The thing is, it's a tricky style to pull off gracefully for most. If you are a petite girl, wearing Doc Martins with tights and a skirt will look cute and fashion forward. If you are really tall and not model thin then you will tend to look...well, butch. I also love grunge in a way, but hate looking sloppy. Anyway, what I'm getting at is that even though I like the combat boot/grunge look, Doc Martins are not for me. But I wasn't about to give up so easily. After doing some research I have found the Justin Roper Boots. I am obsessed about getting a pair but have yet found just the right ones for me to pounce on. These boots are the perfect substitute for Docs. They are still a lace-up boot, but with a narrower toe which make them look slightly daintier; especially in a size 10 shoe.

I cannot wait to get my hands on a pair of these, but I'll have to wait for a bit. There are several other colors available on ebay, but I'm partial to the brown ones.

The Matrix Runs on Windows

This is so dumb yet funny (like most things I enjoy):

Via College Humor.

Cranky Old Man

Oh! The irony of it all:

A Dark Twisted Puppy

Last night, after going to see Slumdog Millionaire (so sweet - go see it!), my friend Emily and I went back to her place to watch Secret Lives of Women. If you haven't seen this show...look it up on Youtube NOW. Anyway, we watched of couple of episodes, but the best one, hands down, was one about Stalkers. Several women were interview who had either stalked someone or had been stalked...but no one, NO ONE, was as amazing as Dessarae Bradford. This woman, Dessarae, not only claimed to have slept with Alec Baldwin and wrote a book about it; she tried to sue Colin Farrell for denying that they had a "phone relationship" and that "he knew who she was." Yes, she also wrote a book about that too. Lo and behold the cover of said book; la piece de resistance if you will:

This woman is a comedic genius!! Not only that, she has decided that she would also take the opportunity to write and sing about these men that have done her wrong. Yes, she has a myspace.

Your welcome.

Taking Action

During one of my random web searches, I found a link to the Take Part website. It instantly caught my attention as I am a frustrated human rights advocate. Curiously enough, the first link on the site that I happened to click on was encouraging people to go out and watch a film called "The Visitor." The film deals with the issue of immigrants in the U.S. and how so often they are robbed of their rights in the name of so-called "public safety." This strikes a personal note for me because as a foreigner myself, I have had to deal with so much stress and humiliation for just wanting to stay in a country that I love and has been my home for the past 8+ years.

Anyway, here is the link to the site and there you can watch the trailer for the film. Additionally, the site directs you to several links where you can find out more information on the issue as well as a link to a forum where you can discuss with others your thoughts/comments about the issue at hand.

It's That Time of the Year Again

Yes folks, it's "Best Of The Year" list time again. I've been deliberating whether I should bother posting and sort of list of my own this year. Even though I kind of secretly enjoy reading other people's end-of-year lists, I find it to be a bit pretentious. At the same time, it's only an opinion, and we all sure have those (ahem, Brooklyn Vegan commenters). Anyway, I will be slowly crafting my lists and will be posting them soon for all of my non-existent readers to size up.
